Full HD is only available if you have a television

The LED's around the perimeter illuminate the screen from the sides, offering a less expensive option. Prior to the LED technology, LCD screens were LED Light Housing lit by fluorescent tubes, which don't produce very sharp blacks; by adding LED's either at the back of the screen or around the perimeter, the contrast is increased. A television with full HD, or 1080p, will refresh at a higher rate, giving a crisper picture. The technology of the screen is also important. LCD is the basic, perfectly acceptable for most viewing.
Light emitting diodes (LED's) are now being enison light bulb used in the manufacture of flat screen televisions that have liquid crystal displays (LCD's). The standard for high definition is 780p, and 1080p is used for full high definition. LCD with LED backlit or perimeter is superior, because the LED's produce a crisper image than the fluorescent light of the LCD. The cost of back-lit LED-LCD TV's is higher, as more LED's are used.

Full HD is only available if you have a television that can receive 1080p; it can be plasma, LCD, or LED. Standard HD TV with LCD screens and 780p refresh are at a slower rate than LED TV so there will be more blur as the picture changes. Remember, if you want full HDTV, a device which will receive the 1080p signal is necessary. These must connect with the right cables; HDMI or video composite cables. So, the choices are back-lit LED or perimeter LED TV.

These have been largely replaced by LCD and LED/LCD screens. DLP is comparable in crispness to an LCD with LED, and plasma fades. HD standards are 780p, and for full HD, the standard is 1080p, meaning that the refresh rate is more rapid, and the sharpness will be enhanced. This was first used when home theater television demanded very large screens; DLP televisions were large and heavy. You must also have a full HD signal coming in, either through a cable receiver, or full HD video player. However, they are comparable in quality to LED/LCD televisions. The numbers indicate how many lines of information cover the screen; the higher number, the richer the picture.
